Phillipsburg Child Care Center is seeking a Lead Caregiver. Candidates must be passionate about offering quality experiences to children ages 4 weeks through 12 years. We strive to build a team of caregivers who are excited to provide the children with the best possible guidance, care and education. Job duties include: • Implementing age appropriate curriculum that stimulates all domains of the children’s development. • Perform regular evaluations of children and help develop lesson plans that address each child’s individual needs. • Maintain constructive and open communication with parents/caregivers. • Maintain records in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion. • On a continuous basis, evaluate and update the classroom to reflect the developmental needs of the children. • Participate in on-going educational developmental opportunities. • Maintain a classroom that is fun, clean, and safe, in accordance with policies and state licensing regulations. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and other staff. Qualified caregivers must: • Genuinely care about children and their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. • Be coachable while learning state licensing requirements and understand that we will be in compliance at all times. • Be clean, neat, and a good role model for impressionable children. • Have demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice. • Must be at least 16 years of age and will participate in staff orientation at time of employment. • Undergo a comprehensive KBI fingerprint-based background check. Available Positions: Full-time All Lead Caregivers must adhere to all caregiver qualifications in addition to obtaining: • High school diploma or equivalent and; • Option 1: Six months teaching experience in licensed facilities with children of the same age as enrolled in present facility; Option 2: (A) Five sessions of observation for not less than 2 1/2 consecutive hours per observation in licensed facilities with children of the same age as enrolled in present facility; and (B) 10 clock hours of workshops approved by the state licensing staff (which can be obtained during the hiring process); Option 3: (A) A minimum of three semester hours of academic credit or equivalent training in child development, early childhood education, and curriculum resources; and (B) supervised observation in high school or college or three months' work experience with children of the same age as enrolled in present facility; or Option 4: A child development associate credential.
